DONOR PRIVACY POLICY

People give to BTEA because they trust us. That trust covers the money and it covers the information that comes with it. This page says plainly how we treat both.
WHAT WE WILL NOT DO
We do not sell, rent, or trade donor information. We share contact information only with ministry partners we work alongside, and you can ask us who they are or ask us not to share yours. No one outside BTEA will know how much you give.
WHAT WE COLLECT AND WHY
When you give, we record your name, contact information, and the gift itself. We use it to process the gift, send your receipt, produce your year-end tax statement, and keep you informed about the work you are funding.
HOW GIFTS ARE USED
Gifts are pooled and directed where they are needed most across the field. BTEA retains exclusive legal control over all contributed funds and the discretion to apply them to the ministry’s purposes, which the IRS requires of every charity that accepts designated gifts.
You can designate a gift toward an area of the work, such as the evangelist team or a mission trip. We honor designations wherever we can. Donors do not sponsor an individual evangelist, and gifts are not assigned to a named person. The men serving in the field are employees of BTEA, supported by the whole body of giving rather than by one donor, which protects both the donor and the evangelist.
RECEIPTS AND TAX STATEMENTS
Every gift receives a receipt. A cumulative statement goes out each January for the prior tax year. BTEA is a tax-exempt organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, EIN 59-2613612. Gifts are deductible to the extent the law allows.
GIVING ANONYMOUSLY
You may ask that your name be withheld from published lists and internal recognition. Tell us at the time of the gift or write to us afterward. We still have to keep your information in our records for tax purposes.
CHANGING HOW WE CONTACT YOU
Ask us to stop emailing, stop mailing, stop texting, reduce how often we do any of it, or remove you entirely. One request to the address below covers all of it.
CARD AND ACCOUNT SECURITY
Gifts are processed by WeGive and Stripe. BTEA never sees or stores your full card or bank account number.
