1. WHO WE ARE
Bob Tebow Evangelistic Association (“BTEA,” “we,” “us”) is a tax-exempt religious nonprofit organization located at 12735 Gran Bay Parkway, Suite 130-B, Jacksonville, FL 32258. This policy explains what we collect through btea.org and donate.btea.org, why we collect it, and what we do with it.
2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
Information you give us. Your name, email address, mailing address, phone number, and the details of a gift when you donate. If you apply for a mission trip, sign up for updates, or contact us, we collect what you send.
Information collected automatically. Your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit, how you arrived at the site, and how long you stay. This comes from cookies, pixels, and similar technologies described in section 6.
Information from other sources. We receive information from payment processors, from donor advised funds and brokerages that transmit gifts on a donor’s behalf, from ministry partners we work alongside, and from data vendors who verify or add to the contact information we already hold, such as a corrected mailing address.
3. PAYMENT INFORMATION
Gifts are processed by WeGive and Stripe. Card and bank account numbers go directly to those processors. BTEA does not receive or store full card numbers. We keep a record of the gift, the date, the amount, and the last four digits of the card.
4. HOW WE USE INFORMATION
Processing gifts, issuing receipts, and producing year-end tax statements.
Sending updates about the ministry, the field team, and mission trips.
Sending thank-you gifts to donors.
Answering questions and providing donor support.
Understanding how the site is used and improving it.
Advertising, as described in section 5.
Meeting legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
5. ADVERTISING AND ANALYTICS
We advertise on platforms including Meta, which operates Facebook and Instagram, and we use analytics tools including Google Analytics. Framer, which hosts our website, measures traffic without cookies. Meta and Google place cookies and receive information about your visit, including pages viewed and whether you completed a gift.
We may upload contact information we already hold, such as an email address, so a platform can match it to an account and show you our content. Platforms also build audiences of people who resemble our supporters. We do not receive the identity of anyone in an audience built this way.
To limit this: adjust your ad settings inside Facebook or Instagram, use the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or use your browser’s cookie controls. Opting out does not stop you seeing our ads, only how they are chosen.
6. COOKIES AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. We use ones that are necessary for the site and the donation form to work, ones that measure traffic and performance, and ones that support advertising. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the necessary ones may stop the donation form from working.
A notice on our website tells visitors that we use cookies and links to this policy. Videos on our website are embedded in privacy-enhanced mode, so the video host does not set tracking cookies unless you play the video.
7. HOW WE SHARE INFORMATION
Service providers. Companies that work for us, including WeGive, Stripe, email and text messaging providers, our advertising agency, mail houses, the fulfillment partner that ships thank-you gifts, and technology vendors. They may use the information only to do the work we hired them for.
Legal and safety. When required by law, subpoena, or court order, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of BTEA, our staff, our field team, or the public.
Successors. If BTEA merges with or transfers its operations to another organization, supporter information may transfer with it.
Ministry partners. We share supporters’ names and contact information with ministry partners we work alongside, and they share with us, so we can work together on the mission. We never share how much anyone gives. Write to the address in section 15 and we will tell you who those partners are, or stop sharing your information, whichever you ask.
Beyond that, we do not sell, rent, trade, or give your information to any other organization.
8. EMAIL AND TEXT MESSAGES
You join our email list when you give or when you sign up for updates on our website. Every fundraising and update email includes an unsubscribe link and our mailing address. Unsubscribing stops the updates. It does not stop gift receipts and tax statements, which are transactional records.
Donors can also choose which emails they receive, or ask that we not contact them at all, through the donor portal on our giving site or by writing to the address in section 15. We honor every request within ten business days and we do not add anyone who has unsubscribed to a new list.
We send text messages only to people who have given us their number and agreed to receive them. Reply STOP to any message to end them and HELP for assistance. Message and data rates may apply. We do not send text messages to purchased or rented phone lists.
9. YOUR CHOICES AND RIGHTS
You may ask us to tell you what information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Write to the address in section 15 and we will respond within a reasonable period, normally 45 days.
Some states give residents additional rights over their personal information. Where a state law gives you a right beyond what is described here, we will honor it. We do not discriminate against anyone for exercising a privacy right.
Records we must keep for tax, accounting, or legal reasons will be retained even after a deletion request, and we will tell you when that applies.
10. CHILDREN
The site is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. Mission trip participants under 18 are handled through separate application and consent forms signed by a parent or guardian, not through this website. If you believe a child has given us information here, write to us and we will delete it.
11. HOW LONG WE KEEP INFORMATION
Giving records are kept at least seven years to meet tax and accounting requirements. Website and advertising data is kept for shorter periods set by the platforms and tools we use. Contact information is kept until you ask us to remove it, subject to those record-keeping obligations.
12. SECURITY
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect the information we hold, and we rely on WeGive and Stripe for payment security. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee that information sent over the internet is safe from interception.
13. OTHER WEBSITES
The site links to other websites, including social media platforms and our giving pages. Their privacy practices are their own and this policy does not cover them.
14. CHANGES
We will update this policy as our practices change and will revise the date at the top. Material changes will be announced on the site.
